The studio will explore the concept of 'Adaptive Reuse' within the urban context of Seoul.
'Adaptive Reuse' involves repurposing underutilized buildings or spaces for new uses. This sustainable approach not only reduces the environmental footprint compared to new construction but also preserves the cultural and historical value of a place. This course aims to reduce the environmental impact on our urban landscapes by recycling and revitalizing existing structures. Students will analyze the urban context of the surrounding area, come up with appropriate programs, and create new public value.
