Taereung National Training Center is located between Taereung and Gangneung,which are Royal Tombs of Joseon Dynasty. Surroundings of these tombs were considered as an open area, so easily been used for many other facilities. But after Royal Tombs designated as UNESCO Heritage, Cultural Heritage Administration made a plan to restore the surroundings by tearing down all the facilities that has built upon it.

Taereung Skating Rink, located at the most inner part of the Training Center, is one of the most affecting visual landscape from Gangneung. The rink was originally built as an outdoor, but over time, has enclosed and added building equipments to longer the icing period. Also its location is near the source of the stream of the Gangneung, which play a role as a boundary between the world and tomb area.

So, This suggestion is to make a Building that act as a Base camp for restoring the surroundings of Royal Tombs. Not by Removing everything But by Reassembling the Skating Rink and Reconnecting the surroundings which was divided due to theSkating Rink.
