Not a Wall, but a Generator: 수직적 교차를 통한 중정의 재구성 / Reconfiguring the Atrium through Vertical Intersection 세운상가는 오랜 기간 단일한 '벽'처럼 도시의 움직임과 내부의 다양성을 단절시켜왔으나, 본 프로젝트는 이 벽 내부의 폐쇄된 중정을 ‘수직적 놀이터'와 같은 융합 플랫폼으로 재탄생시키고자 한다. 이곳에서는 낡은 제조업의 생산 공간과 전시, 소비 공간이 수직적으로 교차하며, 다양한 움직임과 사람이 자연스럽게 얽히고 만나 역동적인 경험의 교차로를 만든다. 이 공간은 현대 사회에서 소외되어가는 낡은 제작 기술과 기억을 보존하고 현대의 문화와 융합시켜, 새로운 가치를 창출하는 지속가능한 ‘발전기'가 될 것이다. Sewoon Sangga has long served as a single 'Wall,' isolating urban movement and internal diversity. Based on this recognition of the problem, this project seeks to transform the closed central atrium within this wall into a fusion platform akin to a 'Vertical Playground.' Here, the production spaces of old manufacturing vertically intersect with exhibition and consumption areas, creating a dynamic experiential intersection where diverse movements and people naturally encounter and engage. Ultimately, this space will become a sustainable 'Generator' that preserves the legacy of old fabrication technology and memory—which are often marginalized in modern society—and fuses them with contemporary culture to generate new value.
