This proposal for the new Museum of Architecture in Seoul is based on
the idea that architecture is mainly about people and how spaces make
them feel. The project focuses on creating different atmospheres using
light, materials, proportions, and contrasts. Through an adaptive reuse
strategy, the design preserves and recontextualizes unique elements
of the existing building—called artifacts—by integrating them into the
interior and exhibition. New volumes are added to house key functions:
a Lobby, a Main Exhibition Hall, an Educational Center, and a Circulation
Pathway. The result is a museum that feels open, accessible, and
emotionally engaging.
