This project, located in Seochon near Gyeongbokgung Palace, aims to create a space where artists, locals, and international visitors can interact through immersive exhibitions and cultural activities. Inspired by Seochon’s historical and cultural context, the building is organized into three main zones: a public area on the 1st and 2nd floors featuring a café, lounge, and exhibition space; and private artist residencies and studios on the 3rd and 4th floors. The massing strategy separates public and private functions while encouraging interaction in shared zones like the lounge and outdoor plaza. A highlight of the project is the immersive museum—a black box space with high ceilings where projection and VR art create an experiential narrative of Seochon’s traditional alleyways, markets, and hanok villages. Artist studios above the museum are visually connected, allowing creators to observe their digital work from above, while shared living areas and terraces foster community among residents in a quiet, scenic setting.
