The goal of this Task_01 ‘Site Construction’ is to provide an assessment of the existing building and its context, in order to shape the direction of future interventions.
The main driving idea is that sites need to be actively constructed. ‘Site’ and ‘context’ are not given or fixed. They need to be constantly defined and are not just the passive background or scenery of the architectural proposal, but powerful active and generative foundations that need to be read and translated in order to frame any design intervention. They also may shift over time.
This phase will culminate in a collective brainstorming session where each team’s findings will be shared.
